Pros and Cons of Video Games – 20% Project – Week 3

This week I continued working on the cons of playing video games. I learned that video games can cause real life risks and hinder cognitive functions. I accomplished learning those two examples of why video games are bad. I had no struggles and I didn’t have to make any adjustments. Though I am going to switch up some of the research order and find new ideas form different websites. I left off almost finished with the cons of video games.

Roomy

My favorite room in my house is my bedroom. It is my favorite because I feel the safest in my room, I feel most at home, and I think it is the best looking room in my house. I feel safest because it is where I sleep the most, and mostly no trouble doing so. I also feel most at home because I spend most of my time thinking and listening up there. But I think it is the best looking room in the house because of my decorations. There is not much on the wall except for an LED dartboard, and lights that cover most of the top of the wall. I just got a new shades that drape over the windows, and rollers behind. When walking in, my bed is in the middle of the room, desk to the left, and on the left wall I have shelves that hold possessions of mine. I have a dresser next to the door, and a closet built into the right wall. And lastly I have a basketball hoop on the back of my door.

Pros and Cons of Video Games – 20% Project – Week 2

This week I finished working on the pros and I started on the cons of video games. I accomplished finishing the pros of video games and started working on the cons. I found that video games help with problem solving, decision making, memory, spatial intelligence, history and culture, and social interaction. The only struggle I had was the distractions around me. Especially sitting next to Noah, who’s making bread. I am probably going to have to adjust my schedule to make it so I takes notes on what I found on sites and move from there.

Platypus Pranks

Mega prankster Pete the Platypus is at the top of his game today. Being April fools day, he could do the worst and most elaborate pranks. This morning he opened his casement of pranking devices, getting everything he needed. The first prank would be on his friends on their walk to school. He had snuck in heat seeking shirts with the words mega loser written in a special ink. He would intentionally be late on their walk so his drone could drop heat absorbing slime on them. The ink would then come out. At school, he pranked all his teachers, but the most elaborate would be on the principal. Pete set up an almost invisible trap on the podium floor when an assembly would happen. When the principal would take the microphone of the stand and start walking around, he would pick up a fake $50 bill that was attached to the floor, setting off a Rube Golberg machine, that would trap him in a net. Or at least that is what he hoped would happen.

Pros and Cons of Video Games – 20% Project, Week 1

This week I started working on the pros of playing video games. I found that video games help with problem solving, decision making, memory, and spatial intelligence. I didn’t have any struggles except for just distractions. There was a lot going on that is harder for me to focus than usual. I think I might have to adjust my original plan because I got a lot done when in the time that I had. I might finish much earlier with my research than I intended. I left off being halfway done with my pros research.

Dinner For Three

If I could invite any three people to dinner it would be LeBron James, Shohei Ohtani, and Victor Wembanyama. Victor Wembanyama is a rookie who plays for the San Antonio Spurs. He is 7’4” with an 8’ 0” wingspan. He averages 21.2 points per game, 10.5 rebounds, and leading in blocks with 3.5. I would get autographs while eating and sell copies to make money. That is why I would invite those three for dinner.

Rad Reading – March

This month I read Alex Rider – Stormbreaker by Anthony Horowitz. It starts out as a normal London day, Alex coming home from school to find out that his uncle died in a “car accident”. But then when Alex attends the funeral, he learns that there were bullet holes in the windshield. Then he finds out that his uncle didn’t work at a bank, but was a super spy going undercover to investigate the suspicious new technology being built by madman Herod Sayle. Their first clue to him being up to no good was his computer factory was heavily armed with soldiers. Alex goes undercover to Sayle Enterprises to find out what was going on. He did some exploring and found out that Sayle was bullied by the current prime minister of England. Sayle loaded the new computers with a form of smallpox with no immediate cure. Schoolchildren would die in a matter of minutes. With Alex stop him, or will he pay the price of a spies failure.

I liked this book because of the nonstop action and good description of what was going on in the book. I could picture all the scenes that the book described at every single point. The characters were described so well that I saw them for their every detail. That is why I liked this book.

My favorite character from the book was Alex, the main protagonist. He was my favorite because of his bravery and perseverance. One quote to show this is “But all in all you are to be congratulated, Alex. You not only lived up to our expectations. You way exceeded them.” He took many risks and some failed, but he never stopped trying to complete his mission. That is why Alex was my favorite character.

Dream Job

My dream job would be a professional athlete. The fame, fortune, and the knowing you have fans supporting you across the country. When you are famous people know you, and it seems cool to have people talk about you everywhere. It would take some camouflage to go run regular errands as a famous person, being a downside, but there are still more upsides. The fortune, rolling in money. It’s nice to be rich and have luxury everything. Huge mansions, fancy sports cars, the finest food. Having butlers and the best trainers to help assist your needs. Then the fans, people supporting you as you walk on to the field, court, or arena. It would be cool knowing people dream about meeting you or being you. That is why a professional athlete would be my dream job.

Rad Reading – February

This month I read The 57 Bus by Dashka Slater. The 57 Bus is about the encounter of two teenagers who live completely different lives. They only encounter each other on an eight minute ride on the 57 bus. Sasha is an agender person who lives by they, them pronouns. They like to wear skirts and overalls as their fit. They have friends who are very accepting and loving of Sasha. They go to a fancy private school with not many kids in their grade in the nice part of Oakland. Richard though, lives a different life. He is an African-American boy who lives in the hood with guns and crack running through the streets in the dark part of Oakland. He attends Oakland high school with poor grade which he is trying to bring up until being arrested. He encounters Sasha sleeping on the 57 bus and lights the skirt on fire thinking that Sasha would wake up and put it out for a few laughs. But the skirt erupts into flames giving Sasha third degree burns all over their legs. Richard is arrested with multiple felonies landing him in juvie.

I really liked this book because of the detailed descriptions of everything and the ability to visualize the scenes that happen. The story is kind of dark, but it speaks the truth about the places some people live in. I also like how it describes the story in a place where two people can live completely different lives. I like the diversity of the book.

My favorite character from the book was Richard. Even though he was the antagonist, he isn’t evil. He is just a teenager that made a mistake One quote to prove this is: “I am not a thug, gangster, hoodlum, nor monster. I’m a young African American male who’s made a terrible mistake. Not only did I hurt you but I hurt you’re family & friends and also my family & friends for I have brought shame to them and our country and I shall be punished which is going to be hard for me because I’m not made to be incarcerated.”

Invisi-man

If I were invisible for 24 hours, I would do a few things during my time. I would first sneak in to professional sports games like an Angels game or a Lakers game. I don’t usually go to these because of business but sneaking a ride there and sneaking in to the game to watch. Then I would visit multiple stores and steal all the activated vbucks gift cards and lottery tickets. I would get a lot of vbucks on my account in Fortnite so I could buy a bunch of exclusive stuff and the lottery tickets give me a chance to become rich. The third a final thing I would do when being invisible would be to go to the best food places to try them and go to my favorite dessert places in the town. That is what I would do if I were invisible for 24 hours.
