I would live in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. This would be the place because I would really like to see a real superhero, in a big fight! Spider-Man vs. Green Goblin, Captain America vs. Hydra, and The Avengers vs. Thanos! Yes I know that half of the universe was deleted for 5 years, but seeing the Avengers in the biggest fight of the universe would be so cool to watch. Maybe I could even meet them and that would be the best thing ever, maybe get an autograph, keep it for half a century, and make a lot of money selling it! That is why I want to live in the MCU.
This month I read Legend by Marie Lu. I is a dystopian world based in Los Angeles. The country is at war and the west side is the republic and the east side are the colonies. It is a book with multiple perspectives one of them being the most wanted criminal in the republic who is a 15 year old boy named Day who is being charged for assault, arson, theft, destruction of military property, and hindering war efforts. The second perspective is named June and is the top student of the republic testing a perfect score of 1500 on the trial. Her job was to catch Day by pretending to be a street girl. She ends up finding him and the republic throws him into prison. But then she starts talking to him again and learns how skeptical Day is about the republic. Then June finds something that blows her away. Secrets are uncovered, and June realizes maybe the Republic isn’t her best friend after all her years serving. Will she let it all slide, or will she do something about it?
I really liked this book because it was filled with non stop action, suspense, and a hint of romance. Everything leading up to the climax was like its own plot mountain itself. Small adventures, that keep getting better and better. I also liked the fact that there were multiple perspectives throughout the whole book that gave the reader background knowledge that the characters didn’t know. I also like that it is a dystopian Los Angeles, a familiar place.
My favorite character is Day because he is just trying to save his family the entire book. He is able to do this before June because he is sly, brave, strong, and smart. To prove this, he says: “Mom, listen. The plague patrol is coming, and they have a medic truck with them. Whatever virus Eden has… they’re coming to get him. We have to hide you all.”
My favorite quote is “Hands up. You’re under arrest for theft, vandalism, and trespassing.” This is my favorite because this is the last thing the Metias says before his death and this is what leads up to the entire book and the fire fueling June to catch Day for something he may or may not have done.
My favorite meal is bolognese at Vitaly in the Camp. It is made with homemade fettuccine or spaghetti noodles of your choice and a homemade meat sauce with tender carrots and celery that dissolves in your mouth. I like to add a garnish of some olive oil, cheese, and a dash of pepper. To me water is the best choice for a drink because I eat it so fast it washes the food down. After I finish the bolognese I like to get a medium sized cup of sweet mint chip gelato and a mix of bittersweet dark chocolate gelato. The dark chocolate is my family’s favorite chocolate dessert because it is not too much of an overpowering sweetness. It has just the perfect amount of sweetness and bitterness for a great treat.
My dream house would be on the moon. I want to be there because I want to feel the low gravity with a clear space suit. I would want to see earth from a different angle and different perspective. I would also live in a glass dome with and air lock and air sealed inside with tiny air filtration vents on the outside of the dome. I would have a water slide and a lazy river that goes around the entire house like a moat. The house would be a big mansion with furnished inside and mooscape_102 Wi-Fi and cellular. I would have weekly imports of water and other necessities from space-trucks. The waste my family would create would be filtered and used as fertilizer. There will be 50 generators under the mansion and every year one would die out and yearly imports will bring one back to replace it. That would be my dream house.
If I could go anywhere in the world, I would go to Italy. I would like to go there because of all the pasta. I heard that even the gas stations have homemade pasta. I would also like to go because the sights. I would want to see the colosseum, ride a boat in Venice, and visit the sight where Indiana Jones was filmed in Venice. I would lastly want to go because of Sardinia beach. The teal colored water and the fertile rocky cliff side. Sounds like a place to see some fish and go scuba diving.
